Based on a couple inquiries I received from a couple people, I think there was a problem with mail getting to smoe.org yesterday afternoon. If you posted something yesterday (Wednesday) and it never appeared on the list, please resend it. And if you got (or get) a bounce from the original post, please forward it to me so we can try to figure out what happened. It appears as though whatever the problem was has been cleared up, so post away! I'm dying to hear what everyone thought of "Flooded". :) ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Oct 2001 18:40:30 -0700 From: "Berni Phillips" Subject: B/Flooded SPOILER SPACE Okay, why did no one think of contacting Mr. Summers? We know that Willow/Dawn/everyone was keeping Buffy's death a secret so they could hold onto Dawn, but surely he knew of Joyce's death. The man owes money for child support for Dawn until she's 18. It would be nice (if he could afford it) if he could send enough to keep them afloat so that Buffy didn't have to drop out of college to support herself and Dawn. I think that they could have even programmed the Buffybot (pre-destruction) to have some sort of conversation about money with Dad. Other than that, I thought it rather realistic on what life in the real world is like with money problems. I thought Giles was being overly optomistic when he assured Buffy that she could manage, citing her mother's management as inspiration. Joyce was older, had a job, probably a college education, child support, and most likely a divorce settlement. Buffy doesn't have any of that. I really liked the scene with Giles and Willow in the kitchen. Good for him, taking her to task for what she had done. And Willow's "maybe you shouldn't piss me off" may be a sign of things to come with her. My favorite line, though, was when the phone rang and Buffy said something like, "Who could that be? Everyone =I= know lives here!" My daughter said again that if whichever channel has the last show that the script doesn't get Buffy and Angel together she would have "WASTED ALL MY TIME!!"
