Politeness and caution, apparently justified. Why would Willow not call Giles? Not *exactly* a power thing, IMO; more of a guilt thing, not wanting to have to explain things to (and/or get caught misbehaving by) Daddy Giles. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Oct 2001 13:27:49 -0400 From: meredith Subject: RE: Buffy--episode 2 Hi, Allan replied: >Not *exactly* a power thing, IMO; more of a >guilt thing, not wanting to have to explain things to (and/or get caught >misbehaving by) Daddy Giles. I'd believe that. I don't think Giles would *not* ask questions ... though she could just have said "Giles, you have to come back, Buffy just walked through the door" and left it at that. But I'm sure when Giles does come back (and we know he will, he's in the musical episode if nothing else) there will be some questions asked. If he ever finds out what sort of spell brought Buffy back, he's surely going to know how dangerous it was. ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "an eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" -- mahatma gandhi ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 13 Oct 2001 15:54:18 -0700 From: "Berni Phillips" Subject: Re: Buffy--episode 2 From: "meredith" > >Willow is on > some seriously deluded power trip here, and you just know she's going to > end up paying for that BIG time. Agreed. She seemed so sure she was right about Buffy's location. > -- Willow and Tara's domestic bliss ... guess UPN isn't as uptight as the > WB, eh? I'd rather see sweet, snuggly same sex relationships than excessive (in terms of what they're showing the viewers) hetero passion. Willow/Tara was tame compared to the premiere of "Roswell," which followed it, both in its new time slot and the move from WB to UPN. "Roswell" featured more passionate teenage groping in one hour than it had in the past few years. I fear it's been ruined by the move to UPN. I had heard that they wanted to move away from the science fictional aspects (which, in my opinion, is the point of a show about aliens!) and more into the romance (Dawson's spaceship?) Feh! It was awful. It wasn't romantic and the characters mostly acted out of character. I'm hoping WB's new "Smallville," which premieres Tuesday night against "Roswell" will be much better. > Though I don't doubt for a moment that the truth won't come out at some > point ...
