But check your local listings, as the saying goes: in NYC it's running at 12:30 a.m. (the Yankees-Red Sox game is on during prime time). (I may re-watch myself, since Meredith has my tapes at the moment.) Here's how =Time Out= describes the episode: "Max (Jessica Alba) attacks a genetics lab because she's more perfect than anyone else." Huh? SMG is on the cover of =Entertainment Weekly= this week (any excuse), it being the fall TV preview. The lead article on Tuesday is on =Buffy=, and contains a mild spoiler (I've been avoiding spoilers this summer, but this one I could have guessed). SMG is also on the cover of the new =Nightwatch= (is that the name of the magazine? One of those British media magazines); the article is an interview with the very busy Joss Whedon. No spoilers at all. More later, I hope. I've been working a lot, plus wrestling with Lacan (and losing). Remind me to mention the French and German =Buffy= sites. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Sep 2001 17:36:37 -0700 From: "Berni Phillips" Subject: o/Re: headsups From: "Donald G. They haven't run many of them locally. We, too, have local baseball that pre-empts many things on Fox. In the promotions for the upcoming season of Dark Angel, Jessica Alba has changed her look, IMHO. She's lost weight and looks much less like Faith. Her hair is longer and dead straight. I think both her body and hair looked healthier before. I wonder if this is a conscious effort to disassociate the look from Faith. It's possible the producers wanted to go with a leaner look or that the actress herself decided to do that. Or she could have been working so hard it just happened without trying. I think more than anything it's an effort to make her look like someone who has been imprisoned in Manticore against her will would look. Speaking of DARK ANGEL, I heard that Doris Egan, writer of last season's best episode (IMHO) has moved to SMALLVILLE, the new show about a teenage Clark Kent that is taking BUFFY's timeslot on the WB. Guess I'll have to check that show out ... thank the gods for TiVo!! ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 4 Sep 2001 19:58:21 -0700 (PDT) From: Todd Huff Subject: Re: o/Re: headsups > Speaking of DARK ANGEL, I heard that Doris Egan, > writer of last season's > best episode (IMHO) has moved to SMALLVILLE, the new > show about a teenage > Clark Kent that is taking BUFFY's timeslot on the > WB.
