Angel first, since it was so much better. One of the best comic episodes ever. Cordelia prancing around in a coin bustier, ever-so-cute Fred (can't wait to see her cleaned up) rescuing Angel from himself, Gunn and Wesley playing Laurel and Hardy, etc. Nice moments: Wesley figuring out the Wolram and Hart connection and the final shot. Considering how everything that was set up in this episode got turned on it's head (so to speak), I'm fairly confident we haven't seen the last of Lorne. Oddity: the head of the Covenant sounded so much like Adam when he spoke. Not the same guy, though. Buffy seemed to be just marking time for most of the episode. Willow taking charge was a great development, but the long time spent in Buffy's head just seemed dull, as did the Ben/Glory conversation until its conclusion. Only other interesting moments were Spike-related: explaining the Ben/Glory connection over and over, figuring out that Doc was lying, and slapping Xander in the back of the head. Not one of my favorite eps. Yahoo! Auctions - buy the things you want at great prices http://auctions.yahoo.com/ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 May 2001 22:47:01 -0700 From: "David S. I feel comments at this point would be pointless, like commenting on a complex movie right in the middle. Unless it's a really bad and predictable movie (did you guess that Luke and Leia would turn out to be siblings? My seatmate did), you can't do it. But: instinctive reaction? On Angel, too many twists and turns for twists and turns sake. On BTVS, the techniques of "Restless" are being reused to a lesser end. During breaks, thinking about what will change in the packaging when BTVS moves next season. What I'll miss: Nicholas Brendon saying "WB with us." What I won't miss: those gawdawful 7-Up commercials. I've already sworn off 7-Up for life; what else do I need to do to make it stop? ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V3 #87 ****************************
