It's at: http://www.nytimes.com/2001/04/21/business/21TUBE.html (You have to be registered at the site to view it, but registration is free.) The article is accompanied by a photo of a vamped-out Spike about to bite a rather dramatic-looking Buffy. One interesting point in the article that wasn't in the one Todd posted earlier is that the WB may well drop _Angel_ now, in which case UPN is fully prepared to pick it up too. Apparently UPN is about to become part of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation megaconglomerate, which essentially means the end result will be the same as if the show had moved to Fox, only not as blatant. (This reminds me of a snatch of a really weird dream I had last night, wherein Joss Whedon attended one of our house concerts (along with what appeared to be the entire 2001 WNBA draft class, but that's another matter entirely) and I said to him, "UPN, huh?", to which he replied, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you about that last time I saw you. At that point we were at .1 degrees UPN." There you go, Don. Give me the Jungian interpretation of *that*. ;) ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 13:58:50 -0700 From: "Susan Kroupa" Subject: Re: Buffy moves to UPN ARRRGH. I'm not sure we even get UPN--does it have other names? I don't see any UPN in our local TV listings. I don't even want to think about not being able to get the new episodes. Do you get the current episodes of _Star Trek: Voyager_ on Wednesday nights? If so, that's your UPN station. You can also check by going to http://www.clicktv.com and entering in your zip code and cable system (or indicate the Broadcast option). Do a search on "Voyager" and you'll see which channel it is. Good luck! ======================================= Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille ======================================= Live At The House O'Muzak House Concert Series http://www.smoe.org/meth/muzak.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 17:30:14 -0700 From: "Berni Phillips" Subject: Re: Buffy moves to UPN From: "meredith" > Susan wailed: > > >ARRRGH. We get really, really lousy reception on our UPN station. I fear, Mr. Bratman, that we will have to call an antenna guy or inveigle a nephew up onto the roof to correct this as best it can. the Bratwife ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 21 Apr 2001 19:07:22 -0700 From: "Susan Kroupa" Subject: Re: Buffy moves to UPN Thanks, Berni! I found _Voyager_ on channel 14, which is called KJZZ, which is the station that airs all the Utah Jazz games. This probably means BUFFY will get pre-empted every time it conflicts with a game--and the Jazz seem to play every other day. I suppose it's better than not getting it at all, but I'm not happy about this.
