There were a couple of really good "closing credit" moments, the most prescient of all was Xander's "oops" after he mentioned A***l. (Prescience credited mainly because it led to the beginning of the decline of that show, which either (1) never recovered from losing Doyle to the actor's drug addiction, ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Really? I hadn't heard anything about this. I thought the actor wanted out or had only agreed to do so many episodes. If it's true, it 's a real pity. > 2. Elisha Dushku showed, not for the first time, what happens when you turn an actress who has some energy loose. But all this did is serve as a reminder that this was the season the writers decided they are tired of SMG (which is the optimistic perspective). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Again, if this is true, it's a pity. I think both women are fine actresses, and I'd hate to think that stories are written from the perspective of being tired of a particular character or actress. They'd better do something better with Giles this season! Xander looking ridiculous is one thing -- it's part of his character. But Giles is not the comedy relief unless he's being the stuffy foil. They loosened him up so much this past season that he's now just a posable figure. Berni ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V2 #192 *****************************
