So I got home today to find the latest Wesleyan University alumni magazine in my mailbox, and who should be on the cover but Joss Whedon '87! (A photocopy will go into the mail for you tomorrow, Don. :) It's a pretty interesting article -- a recent Wesleyan grad visited the set of _Angel_ while they were re-shooting the second episode (apparently Joss didn't like how the scene where Angel meets the cop in the bar was done, and re-did it himself). There are little interview snippets with David Boreanaz, the various Wesleyan alums who work on the show (apparently they're know as "the Wesleyan mafia" :), and Prof. Richard Slotkin, among others. Everyone agrees that Joss is a genius and has one hell of a career ahead of him. (Gee.) One factoid: Joss doesn't see more than 6 seasons of _Buffy_ happening - he says he's only got two more years left in him. Then he wants to go into movies. He's also a huge fan of the show himself -- he said he loves watching it. (Apparently this is not the case at all with anything else he's ever been involved with.) If anyone is *really* interested I can type the whole thing in, but it is rather long. Maybe I can find a scanner somewhere... +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 09 Mar 2000 21:21:51 -0500 From: meredith Subject: b/interview with tara Hi! There's an interview with Amber Benson, who plays Tara at . Looks like only minor spoilage at best. It's a pretty fluffy piece, but I thought it worth a mention. +==========================================================================+ | Meredith Tarr meth@smoe.org | | New Haven, CT USA http://www.smoe.org/~meth | +==========================================================================+ | "things are more beautiful when they're obscure" -- veda hille | | *** TRAJECTORY, the Veda Hille mailing list: *** | | *** http://www.smoe.org/meth/trajectory.html *** | +==========================================================================+ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 9 Mar 2000 22:08:20 -0500 From: Dori Subject: b/And speaking of Spike... I was watching the Spike scene from WHO ARE YOU, and, okay, sixteen times through is maybe a bit excessive , but here's the thing. When Faith says, "I could squeeze you so hard you'd pop like warm champagne," during the speech there's a cut to Spike, and I swear he flinces just as she says, "squeeze." Did anybody else see this, and what was Faith grabbing that made him flinch like that? I just loved that whole scene. Poor Spike. I can just envision him having so much trouble sleeping after that. And I have a feeling that the confrontation he promised "Buffy" isn't going to be entirely geared toward killing her.... - -- Dori cleindori@rica.net - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- What good are henchmen, if you can't get them to carry your unconcious whore to the local hotel?
