Bratman" Subject: os/list administration There have been occasional minor nuisances on this list because of people accidentally replying just to the person who sent the message, and not to the entire list. I belong to a list run by Onelist (a commercial service which pays for its free listrunning with the irritating habit of putting ads at the bottom of messages, so I'm not recommending them), which does have one useful technological feature. In their message headers, while "From" lists the address of the person who sent the message, there is an additional line labeled "Reply To", and that gives the address of the list. So if you hit your reply button, the message goes to the list, not to the sender. (On my system a little warning message appears telling you that this will happen.) I am wondering if it would be possible to install such a feature on this list, or if this has been thought of and judged unfeasible or undesirable. ------------------------------ End of stillpt-digest V2 #28 ****************************
