Here are some speculations. Is there a possible parallel between Willow / Tara and Buffy / Faith? The Second Slayer and the Second Witch? And, hm, Faith was the second Second Slayer and Tara the second Second Witch -- even though Amy preceded Willow -- BTW, you notice what "Tara" spells backwards? But, besides that, I don't think that the Tara subplot is unconnected to what else has happened to Willow this season. She lost Oz and =almost= gave into the temptation to do an evil spell out of her jealousy. I think this is foreshadowing. We know that Oz is supposed to reappear this season in at least a few episodes. My speculation (but tell me if it seems too obvious, because if it does, then it is probably wrong) is that Willow and Tara might get romantically involved (Tara already seems more infatuated with Willow than vice versa) and then Oz shows up, Tara feels betrayed by the fact that Willow is more interested in Oz than in her, and Tara falls for the same temptation that Willow did, to do an evil vengeance spell. And maybe Tara, unlike Willow, goes through with it, with repercussions to continue next season. And there will be exchanges paralleling Buffy and Faith's "You're just like me and don't want to admit it." Comments? Amy was human and self-aware for a few seconds, an episode or two before Tara showed up... Under this theory, Tara's purpose may be to boost Willow's power enough to fix Amy permanently. Tara may or may not be consciously aware of this, although she seems aware of her "Mother", at least. And she still could go the vengence route eventually. Especially if she gets her hands on that summoning talisman Willow has stashed somewhere. Bummer if so. -Allen W. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 1 Feb 2000 21:35:48 -0800 (PST) From: Todd Huff Subject: Re: Willow / Tara speculation > My speculation (but tell me if it seems too > obvious, because if it does, > then it is probably wrong) is that Willow and Tara > might get romantically > involved (Tara already seems more infatuated with > Willow than vice versa) > and then Oz shows up, Tara feels betrayed by the > fact that Willow is more > interested in Oz than in her, and Tara falls for the > same temptation that > Willow did, to do an evil vengeance spell. Feels very Whedonish. :) ClickTV often has the same synopses for Buffy episodes that TV Guide does, and the one for February 15th has a major, major spoiler. Something I haven't even seen speculated about in any of our posts. Beware. Sorry I haven't been commenting lately, but computer problems put me out of touch the last two weeks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
