I would be happy to send out a copy of The Dixie Chicks/James Taylor Special that supposedly aired on TNN/CMT Friday night...if I had it. I managed to set the vcr correctly (for a change)...but later that night when I check the tape...horror of all horrors ...a STAR TREK marathon of some sort was aired instead. (If there is ANYONE LESS likely to watch Star Trek...I'd like to meet them. This morning I thought maybe I just had a horrible nightmare. But no.) Funny thing is...Advertising before Star Trek started included The Dixie Chick/James Taylor Special preview ad! (Does this qualify as cruel and unusual punishment?) Oh well. So...if anyone wants a copy of the very exciting commercial for the CHICKS/TAYLOR show... - -Denise ps: Elizabeth, ---PINK certainly does seem to have the "pipes" so I can easily believe that she was operatically trained. And thanks for "coming clean" on your guilty pleasure music. ; ) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. She was dressed in a long leather jacket, brown sleeveless (naturally) vest underneath, black slacks, and the Herman Munster boots. The set list was; Only Living Boy in New York [Paul Simon] Trouble Shotgun Down The Avalanche Polaroids (no medley) Whole New You Someday - (Steve Earle) Wichita Skyline Sunny Came Home I Don't Know Why Matter Of Minutes Steady On Round of Blues Encore Sing me back home (Merle Haggard) Four Seasons in one Day (Crowded House) If these walls could speak (Jimmy Webb) She was in a good mood, talked about her customized Martin guitar that she proudly showed what it could do, she let the bass drone on while she spoke. She stopped a guy from heckling with no effort. I think the new guitar has made her experiment more on her songs live, she did lots of lengthy versions of older songs, especially on Shotgun and Polaroids. Callie was not at the show, but she talked about parenting and every age for her is becoming a cuter one. Shawn said Callie dances now during some of her songs at shows, instead of singing with her like she used to. She talked about being in Illinois and going to what she thought was a festival but turned out to be a farm fair and she was second billing to a tractor pull. She said the guys in the truck who drove her told her, "These people paid to see the cows, they got to see you for free." The best part for her was they set off fireworks at the fair when she finished her last song. I was able to chat with her and some other fans after the show, one fan asked if her next CD will be the collaboration with Mary Chapin and she said nothing was planned at this time. I told her I saw her picture with Paul McCartney on the KGSR web page and what it was like to meet him? She said he didn't know who she was, how she got to meet him was the person doing the interview knew Shawn was a huge fan and she got to help him with his instruments.
