Just wondering if anyone knows hows sales of Shawn's new CD are doing. I have only heard songs from this CD on WFUV, which has always played lots of Shawn. Haven't heard the single Whole New You on any other station in the NYC area. A few years ago, Sunny Came Home was played on many stations with different formats. So, my question is: Are you hearing any songs from this CD on your local stations? And if not, why not? Having played the CD many times, I feel that the quality of the songs is right up there .A few Small Repairs certainly established Shawn as a major talent with the ability to sell CD's to a larger market. Or Is it possible that there is a time lag, and that a song or two might show up on the radio in a few months? So what's the story? It's baffling to me. Corporate radio stations, as smart as they think they are, are really missing out on great songs, many many great songs. I feel for all the potential fans who'll probably never hear more than two Shawn Colvin songs in their lives. Nope, I'm not hearing anything from Shawn in Minneapolis, except on my iMac on WFUF. However, I don't know what's going on elsewhere. Anyone? I was transferred from Washington, D.C. to Clarksburg, WV in late 1994. If you don't like Country Western, then your choices are next to nothing here. It's either Top 40 (NSync & Brittany) or something they think is Modern Rock (Train & Barenaked Ladies, with Fuel and Incubus thrown in there for good measure). I almost never heard "Sunny Came Home" on the radio here even at the height of it's popularity. Luckily, I saw Shawn in concert about six times before leaving the D.C. area. I still have my VCR tapes of Austin City Limits and Music In High Places to keep me company. To hear music I think I might be interested in, I usually surf over to CDNow, Tower Records, and CD Baby to listen to the music samples. It may be only 30-second sound bites, but it's better than nothing. Although, I'm still loving Whole New You more each time I listen, I have to say I'm ready for the next one. Don't mean to sound greedy, but I want more. Oh well, hope you are having a great day. On Shawns dot com there is a list of about 20 or so stations that are playing Whole New You... are those the only stations playing it?
