The opening act was Kim Richey (Richie??) who I liked. She even sang 'Cinco Dey Mayo (I think that's the title) off of 'Prolonging the Magic', Cake's new CD. Okay, you guys probably don't like Cake- but I love that song. Anyway, I really liked her, even though I wasn't familiar with her stuff. Then Shawn came. She started off with... well, I didn't write them down, so I can't tell you the order, but she sang: Sunny Came Home Bound to You Nothing Like You Matter of Minutes Wichita Skyline Trouble Diamond in the Rough Someday Kill The Messenger Polaroids Stranded Another Long One A Paul Simon song I'll Be Back (Beatles) And another Paul Simon song. She said she got sick of her self so instead, she 'channeled Paul Simon'. And I think that's all, but I might have missed some. Oh well. She talked (a lot, too much) about the Beatles, being in England, going on the 'Magical Mystery Tour' ("We saw the shelter in the middle of the f*cking roundabout!), and Lance Armstrong... supposedly, he held hands with the winner of the last race, and as she said, 'it was sooooo sexy'. It was really funny. Her stories are good, but I thought she told to many. Oh well. It's better than a really crappy story teller who tells to many. Let's see, she was wearing a black and white checkered dress, she played her Gibson and another guitar (I don't play- I can't tell you guitar names- I just know the Gibson cause she told us.) But then halfway through her set the little plug in thing (like I said, I don't play) kept falling out so she had to duck (duct, whatever) tape it back in... All in all, a good show. Was anyone else here there? Jenn 13 days til my birthday! ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
