The appearances come on the heels of the release of Shawn's latest Columbia Records album A Whole New You, her first album of all new and original music since her 1996 Grammy-winning smash, A Few Small Repairs. Up first is Shawn's headline appearance on the popular PBS music series "Austin City Limits," set to air this Saturday, April 21. Shawn has been given the entire hour of the broadcast to showcase her six-piece band and a few famous friends. Comprised of a set of old favorites and selections from her new album, highlights include new songs like "Anywhere You Go," "Bonefields," and "Whole New You," as well as her Grammy-winning Song Of The Year and Record Of The Year (1997) "Sunny Came Home." Shawn is joined by Alison Krauss on Krauss's ballad "Maybe," by Lyle Lovett on his "Road to Ensenada," and by Bruce Hornsby on his "Great Divide." All three contribute to the set-ending early Colvin classic "Diamond in the Rough." Next, Shawn is featured in one of the premiere episodes of the MSN's new music/adventure/ travelogue series "Music in High Places," which takes top recording artists to some of the most ancient and intriguing locales on Earth. Shawn's episode was filmed in French Polynesia. The series is shot using state-of-the-art technology to best replicate the artist's personal experience, and features top-flight cinematography, in-depth interviews as well as numerous "unplugged" acoustic performances by the featured artist at compelling natural and man-made sites. Shawn's episode of "Music In High Places" can be seen on MTV on April 26 (check your local listings). More information can be found at the MSN website (http://windowsmedia.com/musicinhighplaces/shawncolvin). Finally, on May 6, on "The Simpsons," Shawn will reprise her role as Rachel Jordan, the Christian rocker that helped widower Ned Flanders find a reason to live again after his wife Maude was killed in a tragic T-shirt accident (in an episode from last season titled "Alone Again, Natura-Diddly"). Shawn's association with "The Simpsons" stems from her long-standing friendship with "Simpsons" executive producer David Mirkin, who invited her to make the guest shot. In fact, it was director Mirkin who cast Shawn as a priest in his latest film, the #1 hit "Heartbreakers" starring Sigourney Weaver and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Meanwhile, Shawn continues on with her tour, which includes scores of U.S. dates as well as a tour of the U.K. and Ireland next month. Shawn will be on tour all summer co-headlining with Lyle Lovett and Emmy Lou Harris as well as performing her own headline shows. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. I am in Los Angeles and I simply assumed that the PBS station here would be airing Shawn's Austin City Limits episode. I just checked and they are not airing it on ANY of the three stations in this area! If anyone has information that is different, I would love to hear it. But if they are really not airing it, is anyone going to tape it? (Maybe a silly question.) And is there any way I can get a copy from someone? I will gladly send a tape, pay postage, whatever you need. Please let me know....
