Lisa Hayes-Hunter" Subject: [s-r] Columbia Radio Hour Hi all. So I get home from work last Friday evening and am laying on the couch with the radio on, when to my surprise the DJ says they'll be playing Shawn's Columbia Radio Hour in about 20 minutes. So I scramble around looking for a blank tape which, of course, I don't have. So I ended up recording over my guitar lessons which my teacher puts onto tape. Anyway, after having to buy a new tapedeck yesterday because my playback heads crapped out on my old deck, I have the show. I transferred it to my computer last night and split the tracks for a cdr. I'm listening to it at work right now and I can tell I need to do some fade-ins/outs. I need to give it a good listen and then I'll send out a copy to some audiophile on the list to see if it needs any NR or eq-ing. I could do this on Cool Edit Pro but would rather not, as that tends to diminish the overall sound quality to get rid of a little hiss. After this is done I'll tree it out to the list unless someone got a better quality version... no sense in treeing out anything but the best version available, e.g. if someone got a DAT of it and transferred it to a ZA2 via a digital optical cable, that would be better. There's not much point right now in responding with "I want a copy" or "me too". Once it's ready and if there is interest, I'll ask for 5 people who can make cdr copies for 5 others, etc. It's only about 45 minutes, so if someone got a good recording of any other of her radio performances, I could throw that on the end. This show is a partial broadcast of the Austin City Limits taping. I live in San Antonio too! Small world, eh? As far as the Columbia Radio hour here in SA, I don't think it's on here. There aren't any stations cool enough to carry it here (San Antonio radio is terrible, for those who live outside our world). I'm sure you can stream it from the web (anyone know for sure?)
