I hadn't even heard she was doing any shows. I happened to be surfing the web Saturday night and decided to check out a local San Diego radio station's web site (sets 102). Imagine my surprise when I saw they listed Shawn as playing THIS Thursday night in town (at the Belly Up). I called the bar to order tix and they casually said, "oh there's plenty of tickets, you can buy them at the door". I said I wasn't taking that chance so ordered 3 for will call. Anyway, any of you close to Southern California, there are plenty of tix left for Shawn at the Belly Up in Solano Beach (north part of San Diego) for this Thursday night, Feb. 15th. It was very short. They asked if she'd be willing to play the private KFOG concert on the beach in Mexico while wading in the ocean and she said she already did that in Bora Bora during the Music in High Places show. They asked about juggling motherhood and her career and she said that it's a challenge but it can be done and that she's lucky that she can afford help and that her husband is very helpful. She said "Whole New You" would not be a radical departure from "A Few Small Repairs" and there are similarities in production. She said the KFOG show would have a mix of new and old songs "as usual." They asked her about the Grammies and ODB taking the stage before she and John Leventhanl could accept the award. She said it was surreal and that they thought maybe they miss-heard their names. She also said John Leventhanl thought ODB really liked their record so that's why he wanted to jump on stage to congratulate them. They asked when she'd be in the bay area and she said she'd be putting a band together and wouldn't be touring until late summer/early fall. So presume these stealth shows in NYC and Santa Cruz and southern California may be solo shows. Next report - after the Santa Cruz show on Wednesday night. susan in oakland susankrauss@earthlink.net - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
