I went to Amazon.com and looked for the new album, and I think the cover is weird!!!!! Is it a photo or art? I couldn't tell. Anyway, what do you guys think of it? Jenn >> ah ha! it's a photo, taken by an artist (Kate Breakey), and then painted over by that artist. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. It's so cool! Go Shawn! Actually, I wanted to relate a little tale to ya'll regarding the airplay of that song. See, last night I was briefly listening to the radio as I got ready for bed. I heard the dj say, "Coming up, the new song from Shawn colvin," so of course I HAD to keep listening till they played it. But I couldn't stop there. Oh no. I had to listen to all the songs after it till the dj named off the songs...just to hear him say "the NEW song by Shawn Colvin" again. Me is pathetic. :) Now, the less happy part of my story. Today when I got in my car to go to work, the first thing that filled my ears was the beginning notes of "Whole New You." Yay, I thought to myself. Surely this is a good omen. HA! My car stalled all the way out of the neighborhood & now I can't hardly get it to start. So I can't get to work. Argh! All this on the day when the head honcho boss is coming to visit....uh oh. But hey...at least I got to hear my song. :) Now, about the head gear on the cover of WNY...methinks it is probably symbolic of the "whole new you" makeover mentality, yes? When I first saw the pic, though, i must admit that my first thought was "what is that thing on her head?" I had to enlarge the pic. Also, for those of you who like to play (or attempt to play, as is the case w/me) Shawn's stuff, there is a relatively new songbook out there that is a compilation of her stuff called the Shawn Colvin Collection. fyi. Ah, one last bit of rambly goodness--when the dj said "that was shawn colvin" etc this morning, he mentioned that the song was from her new album, which was very good. Hey! Did he get an advanced copy or something? Where's mine? :) ok, better sign off now and try to beg a ride off a co-worker. Thank you to Jean for posting the BarticleB. ;) Seriously, I enjoyed it. :) lindsey - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. I of course have been hearing it quite often on Boston's major two AAA stations (WBOS and The River), but I just now hear it somewhere unexpectedly! It was featured on "my" radio station at Music Match. If you're unfamiliar with this service, I will be happy to explain since I think it's pretty darn cool! Music Match is a library/cd ripper/all in one music jukebox type of thing. They have both a free version of the software and one available for purchase. The one you purchase really isn't worth it for my needs (it basically just provides a couple of faster cd ripping and burning rates and mine are fine thanks to my jazzy new computer) so the free version works very well. Anyway, their new version of the software has a radio feature. You can listen to about 20 some predetermined types of "stations" - - Adult Alternative, '80s hits, Classic Rock, etc. You also build your "own" radio station by either choosing a mix of their predetermined stations (mine are a mix of the three examples above) or they will mix things from your music library (a library of cds you've ripped into mp3s for listening on your computer). They also have a listings of literally hundreds of radio stations worldwide you can listen to. I highly recommend testing this software out, it's free, the recent new version is literally bug free, and the versatility is amazing (http://www.musicmatch.com). Anyway, I didn't mean to give everyone a little Music Match lesson! It just was such a pleasant surprise to see it in the rotation and I wanted to share! Enjoy! rox - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. After he'd listened, he agreed. So is it just us?! Shawn doesn't sing "I believe in miracles", but she does mention things being "too good to be true", after all!
