While it lists the song as being sung by Sting and Shawn, the music sample only features Stings vocals. Guess I'll just have to pick up a copy to hear it for myself --and in support of Shawn. Sting negotiated to include 3 of the song casualties on the movie soundtrack anyway - including this one. So it may be a terrific tune - but it now has nothing to do with the movie. That's showbiz... The new tune is called "One Day She'll Love Me," and it's track #7 on the CD. First impression--I like it. It's very Sting-esque to be sure. But, I'm a fan of Sting's music as well. I think Shawn gives an excellent performance. I think it'll grow on me even more as I listen to it over the holidays. To me, it was worth the $12.99 plus tax. Over the years I've been lucky enough to collect a lot of the stuff that hasn't appeared on Shawn's regular CD releases, to include her movie soundtrack appearances. Anyway, interested in hearing what the rest of the list members think of the song. BigHair where are you? Hope everyone has a very happy holiday season. Let's be careful out there and remember to buckle up. Currently in the 5-CD shuffle: Under the Velvet Sun - Shawn Mullins Without Change - Granian Love Is The Goal (Best Of) - Wendy Waldman White Ladder - David Grey The Green World - Dar Williams Happy Listening, Terry Lee - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. It is indeed very Sting-esque. I'm not sure how much I like it. There's certainly nothing wrong with either Shawn or Sting's performance (Shawn sounds lovely, of course, and Sting sounds good as well), but I'm not a big fan of trying to fit too many words into a small bit of music, which is what this song does. (Don't know if that made sense--guess you just have to hear it to understand.) Of course, anything Shawn is good by me. :) March 27th...three months...i'm all a-quiver. :) lindsey - ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terry Lee Hawkins" To: Sent: Monday, December 18, 2000 5:36 PM Subject: [s-r] One Day She'll Love Me > Well I was out and about doing a little Christmas shopping on my lunch > hour today and I picked up "The Emperor's New Groove" CD and rushed back > to work to pop it into my player.
