One dose of Haemorrhoids was quite sufficient ... :-) A suggested topic for discussion ... if Shawn were to follow up on Cover Girl, covering songs (this bit is important) *by the same writers featured on the original*, which cuts would you choose? On a sort of a Shawn note there use to be 2 sisters on the list and one of them was a track athlete and I think she was moving to Austin. What ever happened to her? She and her sister had some good Shawn stories as I recall. Besides, why are we complaining? At least Neil tried > to get us talking again! You miss my point. I'm not objecting to the original "Haemorrhoids" post in the digest. I'm objecting to the wholesale reposting of it in the same digest. Wholly unnecessary, and not an isolated incident. To quote from guidelines issued to *all* Small Repairs subscribers: 7. List Rules: a. Don't quote entire messages to reply to them--cut and paste the lines you are replying to and dump the rest. There is no reason people on the list should have to read the same message over and over again because people keep quoting the whole thing. Also, the whole list already recieved the message you are responding to, so they don't need another copy. I am trying to imagine a digest of this list, which currently averages about 2 posts per week. If you ain't got time for that, then perhaps you are too busy. Seeing as how it had been 3 freaking years since the post in question, my vote is that it was "wholly necessary" to post it in it's entirety. Good to hear the list has a pulse. I have enjoyed it since about mid-'97 and have made several good friends as a result of it in places near and far. Looking forward to the dialogue which is sure to begin once the new CD hit's the shelf! -Rob - ----- Original Message ----- From: McKay, David To: Home ; Sent: Wednesday, September 06, 2000 8:41 AM Subject: [s-r] Posting Etiquette > Sammy wrote: > > Dave forgot Subsection 7 a Dash 1.1 "Smile and loosen up a bit before you > > have a stroke!! -:)" > > After trying to extricate relevant and interesting content from a digest > overwhelmed by redundancy, smiling is often the last thing I want to do! :-) > > Dave. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
