The article should be out any week now. . ." The Statesman article also noted the gossip published in the New York Daily News, alleging that Shawn is currently chain-smoking, is false: "A gossip column in the New York Daily News has reported that the Austin-based singer, who's five months pregnant, was seen chain-smoking cigarettes at a recent function in New York. 'It's ridiculous the stuff they come up with,' said Colvin's publicist Fran DeFeo. Shawn and Mary Lou did not play together. I've got to say, I don't understand the fuss over Mary Lou. The only thing I liked was a Richard Thompson tune ("Bees Wings"). Shawn was in a good mood. She didn't sing any news songs of her own. She started with Twilight (the Robbie Robertson song). She talked a lot - how she's travelling with her husband and the baby....how she ran the triathalon and came in fifth in her age group (and plans to kick butt next year when she's bumped into the next age group)...she'll be doing a triathalon in Boston when she's there.....she wore a dress that glowed in the dark (like those old black light posters). Shawn played for about 100 minutes but she did talk a whole bunch and so it wasn't non-stop music. Someone really wanted "New Thing Now" and Shawn couldn't remember the lyrics and she wanted to change them (instead of 1994 she made it 2001). It was fun to see her struggle (and the audience trying to help her out). "Polaroids" was brilliant - very intense. Set list later.
