As a newbie, it's good to have some background to this list - and in such a positive, up-beat tone! Anyone interested in seeing a photo of Shawn and Chapin singing at the Joni tribute show go to: http://www.jonimitchell.com/TNTstory.html "Act two opens with a videotape of Hilary Clinton, telling the story of naming their daughter Chelsea and singing "Chelsea Morning" today. She introduces Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter singing what else? They sing Joni's original harmonies as the backbeat segues into "Big Yellow Taxi." The harmonies stretch out into three parts as James Taylor joins in halfway through; Joni stands and blows them a kiss when the song ends to tumult." Didn't anyone go? Please tell. Please someone watch on Sunday (TNT 9pm) and tell all. It is so frustrating not being able to see this show. Paul PS Lisa - do you know whether Shawn enjoyed the evening? I would love to hear her impressions, backstage stories etc etc. Seems like her harmonies with Chapin on 'Amelia' were one of the big highlights of the night. I know she is also friendly with Cyndi Lauper (whose version of 'Carey' is also being raved about). I heard a radio interview Shawn and Cyndi did together a few years ago with UK DJ, Simon Bates, recorded in a New York club at 5am. Talking together, Cyndi said she had written a song with Chapin on the phone ('Sally's Pigeons', I think) and Shawn said she was in the room with Chapin at the time. Awww...this is a great list, huh? :) Speakin of the good ol days, does a certain someone still have the survey information that we all took the time to fill out eons ago? I know that bH promised to post the results, but alas... Methinks that it'd actually be kinda fun to redo the survey anyway, since there are a lot of new people, and quite frankly I've probably forgotten how everyone responded. 'Course, I can't remember the questions...jean? :) ps-- gotta rave here for a moment about jennifer kimball. i went and saw her a week ago in a house concert. she is amazing. you've gotta see her live to believe what an incredible voice she has. if anyone has the opportunity to see her in the future, i would highly recommend it. i'd also highly recommend her cd, veering from the wave. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
