Greetings, Small Repairers! It's been a while... been busy, busy, busy! Recently got back from a two-week trip to the Philippines with my family, and it was a total blast. Sadly, there was absolutely NO trace of shawn there. Didn't even hear "Sunny Came Home" once! Rats. I totally missed Austin radio whilst i was away. It was definitely a comfort to have my radio alarm wake me with an acoustic version of "Round of Blues" shortly after my return to Shawnland. I just love KGSR. I've also ended up with a new job somewhere in all the excitement. (www.Rx.com) I find myself missing Walgreen's Muzac... (www.Rx.com) although now, of course, i get the opportunity to play my own CDs whilst working and you can bet i have a hidden agenda to slowly and subliminally infect (www.Rx.com) everyone's mind with a shawn melody. mmMMMWWWAAHAHA! (www.Rx.com) If i were the scheming type, i might even mention my new place of employment (www.Rx.com) to try and get you to buy things so that i might (www.Rx.com) get to keep my dream job... (www.Rx.com) but actually, a shameless plug about our free delivery (www.Rx.com) would be utterly offensive. (www.Rx.com) I'd *NEVER* stoop so low. Hey, did someone just say something? I must have been hearing things. <> Anyways.... For those of you who don't know, Shawn is currently working on her next masterpiece, and yes, it is killing me to be patient, but that is what we must be... patient. Some of you lucky duckies, (especially those of you who have 18th birthdays coming up) will get to see shawn play live in the not-too-distant future. I am the first to admit that i am seething with jealousy. I may just have to hop a plane to Denver to catch a show... Lord, i thought moving to Austin would bring shawn closer... alas... tis not the case. I caught the Shawn appearance on the Simpsons... that was... weird! Closure! I needed Closure! It was somewhat like recording a 3-hour murder myster movie and running out of tape at the very very end... aaarrrrggghhh! I was feeling so unsettled after watching that episode that i had to sedate myself... we shan't elaborate any further than that. ;) So we've waited a long time to hear from shawn... what can we do to pass the time until we get what we want? How may one fill the void? To you, my friends, may i say........ Lady Jane Grey! Our very own Small Repairer, Sarah Martin (aka Bandera199) and her husband David have released their first CD and it is fantastic, lemme tell ya. There are definitely Shawnesque influences in the clever writing; you'll love the great harmonies, and Sarah's voice will hit you right between the eyes. Dude, this stuff is good. If you like Steady On, methinks you should try this CD. How can you get it? Locally, you can try: Waterloo Records, Austin, TX Barnes and Noble Borders It is also available through their websites: (ah, the internet!) 1) www.MP3.com/LadyJaneGrey. (Give their MP3 files a spin if you would like to browse before buying... They are moving quickly up the MP3 charts.) 2) www.GregCarnesProd.com/LadyJaneGrey.html 3) And you can now buy Lady Jane Grey CDs online (credit card orders) at CDBaby.com! Go to www.CDBaby.com/LadyJaneGrey and check out their artist page. They are such utterly cool people that you will have to check them out to see for yourself. So you are wondering what i am getting in return for telling you about their music? Nuthin baby. I only brag about what i like, and i like this CD. Goes well in the CD shuffle with Steady On, Sinead Lohan's No Mermaid, and October Project. just check it out, okay? Contact me if you need any additional info; you'll be glad you did. I'll be keeping a watchful eye for any shawn info i come across for those of you who need that shawn fix... By the looks of her tour schedule on pollstar.com, she hath left some days open that seem to coincide with the Telluride Festival. I hope those of you that are going will have a GREAT time... just remember... LONG JOHNS!!! It gets chilly in dem dar hills!! Adios for now... ~jean aka Bighair, who thought she heard someone say... "www.Rx.com" :) damn, i'm stoopid. :) PS: now playing loudly in a 5-CD shuffle: Lady Jane Gray Neil Finn - Try Whistling This November Project October Project Jonatha Brooke Live - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
