My personal fave is Jonatha Brooke's performance of the title track, which is a Simon and Garfunkel song. Like most recordings of this type, there may be songs/performers/performances that are not universally appealing, although there is more commonality in this recording than many other collections. But I think the overall quality far outweighs any negatives. Though you have to dig through the liner notes to find it, Steuart Smith does most of the guitar work on this, which tends to pull things together, song to song. He has production credit as well. According to Steuart, Shawn was scheduled to do a song for Bleeker Street, but had to withdraw due to Callie's imminent arrival. He also said they are looking to do another cd along the same lines. - -john - --- metcalfe@hn.va.nec.com wrote: > The album is called "Bleecker Street" and contains covers of 60s folk > songs... === ........... Well, the movie wan't that long, so I went to Borders, right next door. Well, take a guess at who was on the 99 cent bin list? Righty-o. Shawn. AND the Indigo girls AND Bob Dylan. But! The 99 cent bin had a list of who was in it, and Shawn was on the list, yet sold out. So Its better than having a 99 cent bin filled to the brim with Shawn. Oh well.
