Back after a year of absence... I have a question about the sotw: when shawn talks(sings) about 'don't you love the leader of the band... '...but a legend is not a legent 'till it ends' is that about Mr Neil Finn and Crowded House (her many-times-so-called fave band) or i'm just making up? I have to say that I really love the feeling of the song, I just feel at home when I hear it. BTW, i can't see copyright infringement in the lyrics thing, but surely Casey can bring light to this... I know when the International Lyric Server went to court, it was because they had a banner on their page, and so in a way were charging for providing the lyrics. Here there is no exchange of money, and we're only complimenting the wonderful works. Besides, do you think Shawn would let the big bad lawyers take down her faithful followers? :^) Eric The (usually) silent devotee - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. This is a very interesting concept which I have wished for since hearing Shawn sing "You Ain't Going Nowhere" with MCC and Rosanne Cash at the Bob Dylan 30th Anniversary concert (heard them on the radio, did not attend the show). It must have sunk deep down, as I have approached Shawn in a dream about her recording with MCC and Rosanne. For other artists, the results have been enjoyable - Emmylou Harris w/ Linda Ronstadt and Dolly Parton & Dylan and company as Traveling Wilburys come to mind immediately. I am looking forward to the Shawn show in Baltimore on July 11, which I will follow up with Bob Dylan/Paul Simon on July 16. A heavenly week, I hope. Hey there again~ I read an interview w/ Mary Chapin Carpenter today where she talks about her future record plans, and she mentioned that she & shawn have talked for years of doing a duet record. Wouldn't that be the coolest? They sound great together; I'd love to hear a whole album's worth of duets. It'd be especially cool if they'd written all the songs... I wonder if they'd ever co-write. That'd be pretty cool too :) I hope someday they get that duet album off the ground, at least. ~lindsey, basking in the rare Northwestern sunlight :) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. Other guesses?>>> Yep, I'd always assumed that that particular verse was in reference to Sir Kurt. I also always thought that the "prom dress and a sneer/ the woman of the year, but not quite..." lines were referring to Courtney Love. Hmm, come to think of it, that whole verse (possibly) about Kurt Cobain has always really gotten to me...real poignant, I guess. ~lindsey - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
