Shawn was great Tuesday night at the sold out show at Villa Montalvo's Garden Theater. It was cold - - they had heaters on the stage for Shawn and Stueart and the audience was bundled up under blankets. Shawn said that this was their first real gig and she felt like they played a long time. It was actually one of the shorter shows I've seen her do - about 82 minutes with encores. She forgot the words to Suicide Alley but someone in the audience gave her a clue to the second verse and she went on. She continues a brief movie talk segment also. Here's the set list - don't look if you don't want to know! Okay, okay, okay!!!! I don't know why i feel the need to confess this to you people... perhaps i feel it could be a step towards my healing before i decide to seek professional help... so here goes... i'm enjoying a day off from work saturday... and i decide to do a little window shopping; you know... no particular thing to buy, just the fact that you feel like walking around and seeing what's going on, spending a little time by yourself, blah blah blah. so i go to the Arboretum, which is a shopping center with all the, um... how do you describe them... those, i don't know, stores like Pottery Barn, Banana Republic, Express, Structure, you know what i mean, yes? Well, guess what i found myself doing? Now, you have to understand, i am single, almost 30, and have no children; don't have any friends that have children that i would be buying things for; yet... i found myself walking into the Baby Gap store, simply because i saw a Toyota Land Cruiser in the parking lot. Lordy me... i was looking for shawn. Ack! The Shame! The Horror!! Egads. I just wanted to see if she was in there, because it is actually probably the closest Baby Gap to where she lives (my sources for her actual place of residence must remain unknown, lest i be shot....hehheh) and i just thought maybe....just maybe!!!! After i had left the store, i decided that i was in need of therapy because of my need to spot shawn in town -- knowing full well that she is on tour and not even IN austin. I wouldn't even talk to her if i saw her, i just want to spot her so i can say i did! Just like when i saw Patty Griffin at a Vietnamese Restaurant. oy. is there no hope for me?? ahh well... i suppose this shameful behavior pales in comparison to my penchant for olivia newton-john tunes and my burt bacharach and barry manilow collections. There are worse things. um...right? ~jean aka bH, hoping that i don't end up on the jerry springer show someday... PS: anyone besides Dave R. going to telluride?? Would love to hear the stories from the adventure! PPS: austinites? anyone going to catch Jonatha Brooke at La Zona Rosa? Mimi? PPPS: check out the live version of New Thing Now on the new lilith CD, volume 2 methinks... it's most excellent. now playing in a most humble 5-CD shuffle: Totally Hot -Olivia Newton-John Greatest Hits - Barry Manilow Winter - John Tesh Greatest Hits - Daryl Hall & John Oates Devotion: The Best of Yanni* *hehehh... just kidding, i don't really own Yanni. :) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. Shawn opened, singing In the Dead of The night, (Surprise!) Sunny came Home, after Sunny she said "That was my big hit murder song, so if you came just to hear that, well, you heard it and can leave whenever you want." Then she sang Trouble, I Want It Back saying she wrote it about Tori Spelling, Round of Blues, some Beatles Song, then lastly Wichita Skyline. She still hasnt been to Wichita, but she got on the Internet the other night! She said she thought something like eBay would finaly get her, but she went on for some info on a movie, something about whitch files coming out in July. She said someone she works with was saying she saw a autographed pic of Shawn on ebay that she didnt autograph, someone forged! (she was kidding). She had reddish brown hair, normal Shawn length, and she was wearing a white dress with greenish flowers on it with a green sweater thing over the dress and she had on brown boots. we didnt to understand why she was wering such an odd outfit, but she was wearing so she could dance! Yup. She attempted to country line dance and she tried her hand at irish step dancing! She and Mary sang Come On, Come On, One Cool Remove, and that If Iwere Mariah/Celine/Shania song with Shawn doing side splitting imitatons the whole time! If she wernt a singer she should be a comedian! We got FIVE encores! She had Stuart Smith on guitars. The reason I put ticket stub in the subject line was because I was wondering if any of you thought that I f i sent her the stub and a letter asking her to sign it I was wondering if she would. what do you guys think? Also, the poster worked as of a week ago, its 7 bucks plus shipping, i think. jenn ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. (smidge of shawn content) oops! sorry for that last blank post! I was gonna say, Jean... put me on the list amongst the austinites for the LZR Jonatha Brooke show---you bet I will be there! Maybe this time we can talk her into hanging out with us and going to Kirby Lane afterwards. Did you get tix for Chapin at the Backyard? I've found that shawn will be in town that night so we are all hoping for a little cameo surprise from our shawnee. Most of you probably already know this, but there was word from the MCCLIST that Chapin, Shawn and Patty Griffin were gonna work on a cover of "Chapel of Love" for the new upcoming julia roberts/richard gere film, but per Chapin in an internet chat interview that the moviemakers arent going to use the song after all. I wonder if that means they will not go ahead record it anyway? They could still record it and use it to pitch to the next big wedding movie that comes along (wedding movies have a way of coming out every late spring early june). Does anyone have any other info on that? My guess is that if they DO still decide to record it, I bet they will record it here in Austin since it is home for both Patty and Shawn... and they will probably record it with Fred Remmert at Cedar Creek, if not at Shawn's house. Maybe they will record it June 24th or 25th when Chapin will be in town too. Unless they dropped the idea completely. ::::putting on stealth stalking gear just in case :::: :-) Mimi - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
