I'm originally from Scotland, so could help if you plan a trip up there. You may want to check out ticketmaster's uk website for gigs http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/ There's also Time Out (a listings and what's on mag on the web) which covers many cities but is originally a London based magazine, http://www.timeout.com/ . You should get the magazine when you arrive. And, so you know where you're going in London and the UK http://uk.multimap.com/map/places.cgi This provides streetmaps of London and Regional maps for the rest of the UK. There is also a search engine (categorised) for the UK at http://www.ukplus.co.uk/ which is good for museums London travel etc. If you're going to use the train, try www.railtrack.co.uk and if you are looking for no-frills, but cheaper flights in the UK and to places like Amsterdam and Barcelona, try www.easyjet.co.uk.
