Maybe we'll catch Shawn at Bumbershoot, and then jet on down to your town for the Rose Garden concert the next day. Probably wishful thinking, but seeing Shawn two days in a row (and once with a fellow lister!) would be just too cool. I'm so happy she's touring again! Now any word on when there'll be a new album? :) - --Lindsey - -----Original Message----- Thanks for the hot scoop bH! Shawn did three songs. 84,000 Different Delusions-she talked about playing that song at the Benefit for the Tibet House, and how she got the title from a book on Buddhism that she got from a friend. Neil Finn's Four Seasons in One Day-she forget the words at first-I saw her do that one year at Telluride with Mary Chapin Carpenter on a day in which we had four seasons-at one point Shawn, Chapin, and Emmylou Harris we singing under a tent that was being pelted with hail-it snowed a half hour later. her last song was White Line Fever, a Merle Haggard song-I only caught part of that as I lost my connection when Shawn was just starting to talk about writing material for her next album. I know at least a couple of people were listening, John or Steve, can you fill us in on that? She also sang three part harmony with Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis on Bruce's tune "Angry All the Time." She explained that she loves that song and often sings along with when she is driving around. In fact she said the reason whe was on tonight was that she had her brother-in-law get in touch with Bruce and asked him if she could sing with Bruce on that song live tonight-she got invited in to join in. I suspect that the Bruce, Kelly, and Shawn version of Bruce's tune will make it onto KGSR's Volume 7 live CD's(that is the thing that Shawn and Callie were on the cover of this year). I also think that Shawn was singing backup with Kelly on Monte Warden's "It's Only Love." They played a bunch of new stuff from Austin people on the show. of interest to Shawn fans is that Ana Egge has a new album entitled "Mile Marker" coming out on her own label in the next week or so. I just took a chance and typed in http://WWW.anaegge.com and sure enough, you get Ana's web site-you can order "Mile Marker" over the web for $12+$2 S&H or by calling 1-877-59-GRACE. Well enough for now. I'm sorry I didn't post a notice that Shawn was going to be on KGSR, but it was a surprise to me when I tuned in to listen to Kelly, Bruce, and Monte.
