Claypool" Subject: Re: [s-r] new shawn thread? Lindsey, i think this is a good idea... i think for most of the song lyrics, you could just point to shawn's website... for example, if shotgun down the avalanche were the sotw (song of the week, or shawn of the week, heheh), you could just point to: http://www.shawncolvin.com/solyr.htm#shotgun and that would do it. and, come to think of it, if there are those who'd rather not see this, you could put SOTW in the subject line, that way people who wanted to opt out could do so, by filtering on that, same as they do with NSC now. - -john - ---"Lindsey A. Speaking of CDNow links and the like, is there an actual Shawn web page that might offer such a link? The front page of the Joni Mitchell Discussion List (http://www.jmdl.com) has links for CDNow, CD Universe, and Music Boulevard, and 5% of each purchase made through these links comes back to help offset the cost of running the JMDL website. Claypool" Subject: [s-r] SOTW-- Shotgun Down the Avalanche You asked for it, you got it... :) I think this is a good choice for the first song of the week, cuz it seems to be so many peoples' favorites. Let's find out why, hmm? Truthfully, it's just as easy for me to copy down the entire lyrics to a song while i'm at Sony's page as it is to copy the URL, so for everyone's reading convenience, I'll just paste the lyrics to Shotgun below. Shotgun Down The Avalanche S. Colvin - J. Leventhal I'm riding shotgun down the avalanche Tumbling and falling down the avalanche So be quiet tonight the stars shine bright On this mountain of new fallen snow But I will raise up my voice into the void You have left me nowhere to go I love you so much and it's so bizarre A mystery that goes on and on and on This is the best thing and the very most hard And we don't get along After countless appeals we keep spinning our wheels On this mountain of new fallen snow So I let go the catch and we are over the edge You have left me nowhere to go I'm riding shotgun down the avalanche Sometimes you make me lose my will to live And just become a beacon for your soul But the past is stronger than my will to forgive Forgive you or myself, I don't know I'm riding shotgun down the avalanche Tumbling and falling down the avalanche So be quiet tonight be sure to step lightly On this mountain of new fallen snow But I will raise up my voice into the void You have left me nowhere to go I'm riding shotgun down the avalanche ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So... now it's your job to say whatcha think, relate it to an experience you've had, anything that's relatively relevant. I feel like I've talked enough for awhile, so I think I'll withhold my own views till the end of the week.
