Lucinda Williams-Car Wheels on a Gravel Road i was excited to see Susan Werner in this list... anybody who was excited about the 'who else do u like?' thread should check out one of her recordings. she's actually my sister's best friend, so i'm a bit prejudiced, but she truly rocks. smart, sarcastic songwriting, eclectic musical tastes, great guitar... delightful. 'time between trains' isn't, imho, her *very* best--i have a soft spot for 'midwestern saturday nights'--but it's a quality album nonetheless. cristin p.s. who ARE you all listening to, anyway? i need some fresh meat and i've gotten burned on the last couple of 'this looks interesting' buys i chanced. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. Granted, I'm a bit prejudiced because I love Mary Chapin Carpenter's stuff and John is her guitarist, but there's a bunch of MCC fans on this list anyway. He's a wonderful songwriter and his guitar licks are first rate....I love it! His older album, "Buddy" is also a good one. I'd strongly recommend I Belong to You, though...it's even got a duet with MCC on it. :-) Cheers! Have you heard Sinead Lohan's CD No Mermaid? It's really good. She's from Ireland, where she's pretty popular, and I think this is her first American release (first that I know of, at least). She has a beautiful voice, and a sort of ethereal sound to her music. Lucinda William's Car Wheels on a Gravel Road is also really good, if you don't already know about that one. Anyway, there are a couple of suggestions for you... hope this helps some. - --Lindsey, still crossing her fingers about Telluride - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
