<Finally! 107.1 KGSR is preparing "Broadcasts Vol. 6" for release the day
after Thanksgiving 1998. The double-disc set will be comprised entirely of
performances <broadcast live on the KGSR airwaves. Already confirmed for the
set are Lyle Lovett, Spearhead (how's that for an opening 1-2 punch?), John
Hiatt, Ben Harper, Bruce Cockburn, Shawn Colvin (performing her previously
unreleased version of Paul Westerberg's "Even Here We Are"), Agents Of Good
Roots, Jeb Loy Nichols, Jon Dee Graham, Ian McLagan, Freddy Jones Band and
10,000 Maniacs. The project will again benefit the Sims Foundation, an
organization that provides low-cost mental health care for the Austin music
community. Last year's "Broadcasts Vol. 5" resulted in a donation to Sims of
$40,000. >
