Life is good, have a great weekend everybody. Track Listing: 01. In The Bleak Mid-Winter 02. Christmas Time Is Here 03. Now The Day Is Over 04. Rocking 05. Windy Nights 06. All Through The Night 07. Love Came Down At Christmas 08. Silent Night 09. All The Pretty Li'l Horses 10. Little Road To Bethlehem 11. Seal Lullaby 12. Evening Is A Little Boy 13. Night Will Never Stay 14. Christ Child's Lullaby 15. Close Your Eyes Genre: General (Christmas) Original Release Date: 1998 No. of Discs: 1 Mono/Stereo: Stereo Studio/Live: Studio Category: Xmas Vocal Collections Notes:  Becoming a mother probably had something to do with singer-songwriter Colvin's desire to record this album of Christmas tunes (she was pregnant during the sessions). Or maybe it was just career savvy; whatever the reason, Colvin temporarily abandons her unique style of folk-rock to take up the Christmas cause. It's to her credit that she generally avoids over-recorded Christmas standards in favor of more obscure (and more substantive) holiday material. Some of the tunes are arranged for orchestra, while others feature more scaled-down instrumentation, but HOLIDAY SONGS sounds and feels more like the work of a skilled vocalist exploring something different than a rocker out to make a few quick Christmas bucks. The sensuality and elasticity of her voice lends itself well to the more spiritual concerns she tackles here. u - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
