[Ric Cacchione Subject: [s-r] When The Rainbow Comes Hey Gang! Looks like Sony released the soundtrack CD from the movie "Armegeddon" a week early, or at least my local record store did. I walked in on Wednesday and there was a big display for the soundtrack. I immediately grabbed my copy. Then, the neatest little twist of fate happened. The song, "When The Rainbow Comes," Shawn's contribution to the CD, started to play over the store's music system. Isn't that neat? Boy, was my timimg just right. I was immediately impressed with Shawn's version of the World Party tune. I think it ranks up pretty high on my list of covers done by Shawn. It may be my second favorite soundtrack contribution she's done. Behind "Two Worlds" off of the "Grace of my Heart" soundtrack. Anyway, just thought I'd share that tidbit. Happy listening. Fellow Shawnsters; Ric from the record store here. I just saw the posting from Terry Lee concerning Shawn's contribution to the Armageddon soundtrack and I agree, it is really good, but just kinda wanted to warn everybody, the rest of the CD pretty much sucks. Unless you're an Aerosmith fan (which I was many years ago in the mid-70's, being the good Midwestern boy that I am, when Aerosmith, Mott the Hoople and the New York Dolls ruled the earth) you're pretty much out of luck on this release. Plus there's a truly mind-boggingly bad Journey track. Proceed with caution. I can't see there being a single of Shawn off the soundtrack, so you might wanna buy it, tape Shawn and hit your local used CD shop. By the way, the best new release in weeks (possibly months) is the Billy Bragg/Wilco CD doing songs they wrote to Woody Guthrie's lyrics. It's called Mermaid Avenue and if you purport to be a singer-songwriter fan, you need this record. I dont have a copy of the *Armageddon* soundtrack yet, but i've heard Chantal Kreviazuk's version of *Leaving on a Jetplane* through boots.....I think it's wonderful!! But, then again, that could have something to do with the fact that i am a major Chantal Fan (as well as Shawn!!!) Give that song a second chance for me, 'kay? =) ~jenn - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
