Yet another great performance of "Sunny Came Home." Anybody know who that was singing backup? Could it be Anna Egg (is that her name?) Anyway, I loved the way Shawn and Rosie got along so well. I'd give anything to have my very own copy of that framed Platinum Record Shawn gave Rosie. That was so way cool. I was laughing when Shawn said she felt a little "invaded" when she first found out she was pregnant. A friend of mine, who just had her baby last week, said the exact same thing, and she felt so ashamed at first. Of course she felt differently within a week, but she says those first weeks were not the stereotypical happy-sappy-on-cloud-nine feelings she expected. It was more like: Oh-my-God, there's something in me!!! Also, did everyone hear Shawn say she thought the name Marie seemed to go with everything. So I guess she really is considering Marie for the middle name of her new little bundle of joy. She mentioned the interesting choice of Swanhilda, which got a few chuckles from me. Guess Caledoinia might not be so far fetched after all. What do you think of Dharma Marie? Oh well, whatever the name, a rose is still a rose. It was hilarious, but I can recall neither the song nor the pantomimes. Old age, I guess. The only part I remember was her dragging her leg across the stage to indicate one of the lines. This was before Larry Klein joined the tour on bass. While I'm at it, who was the blonde haired woman playing bass before Klein stepped in? I loved her style! - -Meri in DC- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. It's a great club! No seats, however, so you have two good placement options, to my mind: 1) fight the masses to get right up front, which shouldn't be too hard, but is definitely crowded; 2) go immediately up to the balcony (on the left as soon as you enter the club) and grab a good spot at the railing. The balcony goes all the way around the club, so there's plenty of room if you get there reasonably early. Also, if you snag a spot at the railing, you can always squat down later if you get tired. Alternatively, there are tiers you can sit on behind the right and left balconies railings. Her AFGR tour show there was wonderful! - -Meri- - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. She didn't pantomine that song at the FSR tour performance I saw, but she did the year before at a solo acoustic show (at Tramps). Everyone in the audience started singing along with her, and she eventually let us take over. She mouthed the words and did a little impromtu skit of the song for us. I think the words, "dragging back home to you" was accompanied by Shawn pulling her leg across the stage. She did a kind of Stevie-Nicks-esgue twirl to accompany "wrap me in edierdown". ******************* 'All this time I've been a face in the crowd. Yeah, Jason, that might have been it! Maybe the show you were at was the first time it happened, spontaneously, with the crowd deciding on its own to sing along and Shawn deciding to run with it. At the 9:30 Club show last year, she clearly was asking us to sing and let us to carry it by ourselves as soon as we showed we could do so--with a little charades assist, that is! Thanks for the direct CC, btw, as I am a digester.
