You have to know that Shawn would never say anything to an audience that she wouldn't expect to become public knowledge. She is nobody's dummy. That is her way of bringing it to the public, giving privilege to her fans first and foremost. It's not like we won't find out in August anyway. You may have given your word via a muffled audience holler--but that's no personal contract that would do anything to betray your loyalties to Shawn. This is her list you are talking to! lol :-Þ << for me the highlight was, believe it or not, 'Sunny Came Home.' >> hehe....not surprising ;-) ~Mimi PS: Sorry about bringing that Dar-list rumor to the forum, but I had to get that clarified right away... and i knew that you guys would know the answer. Okay, okay, ya convinced me! Heaven forbid I should pass up an opprotunity to pass on celebrity gossip, but be warned I'm not quite the storyteller Shawn is. Shawn first met Bob Dylan in 1990 at the Grammy awards (the same year she won for 'Steady On' I think) and at the post Grammy festivities someone she knew introduced her to Bob. Shawn stammered something along the lines of "I'm a big fan and love your music." Bob's reply was as imitated by Shawn the stereotypical Bob Dylan mumble noise that he was infamous for back then, sort of like the sound you get when you step on a cat. The story's much better if you hear Shawn doing her Dylan impersonation. Finally Shawn guesses he tried to kiss her hand, but it was more like he rubbed his mouth on the back of her hand and fingers. Kinda gross. Flash forward to the Grammys and another post show party. Shawn bumped into Dylan again and someone wanted to get a picture of them together. After winning Album of the Year, Dylan's speech had been so sincere and understandable that Shawn wasn't sure what to make of Dylan this time. They were standing next to each other and Shawn didn't know what to say, when Dylan clear as the day said, "I don't think I've ever seen so many famous people in the same place before." Shawn, a little surprised, replied, "Yeah, what do yo make of that?" "I dunno!" he replied. Shawn then fled in fear. >(remember the maxipad story? sister >wendy? apollo 13?) Sister Wendy I know about, the others I haven't heard, so it's back to you on those! ><< She also let slip what she wants to name her baby, but we, the > audience, promised not to tell. So I won't blab. Nya nya. >> > >You traitor! we thought you were one of us [s-r] listers?? JEAN!! spank >him!! Oh, my! I didn't realize Small Repairs was one of THOSE mailing lists! Will I need a credit card? Since the world famous SteadyOnDC got me to give it up on the AOL message board, I might was well cause as much damage as possible. First off, let me remind everyone that anything a performer says to an audience should not be taken as gospel. During a brief Q&A, Shawn mentioned (after much hemming and hawing) that a name she's considering is: Caledonia Marie. Honestly. Someone in the audience with an even more unfortunate name (which escapes me right now) advised Shawn "Don't do it!" But Shawn seems to dig it. Again this should not constitute an official announcement. If you ask me (and no one has yet), shorten it to Callie and it's a pretty cool name. But then again I have a boring old one syllable name. >You may have given your word via a muffled audience holler--but that's no >personal contract that would do anything to betray your loyalties to Shawn. >This is her list you are talking to! lol :- Well, it wasn't actually me who said we wouldn't tell, so I guess I'm in the clear. Besides I no longer heckle Shawn. I've learned my lesson on that score. Let's see, do I have thing substantial to say about Shawn's music? Um. Not really. Maybe I can write an insightful haiku.
