'Tis Anna and Lindsey, here with a bit of word-definition trivia. Anna, being la profesora, has been reading the dictionary lately, and came across the definition for shibboleth. (In case you don't see the relevence in that, there's a line in Kill the Messenger about "the shibboleth of Shadowland.") Here's how it reads: shibboleth, n. [Heb. shibboleth, a stream] 1. in the Bible, a test word used to distinguish the enemy: Judg. 12:6 2. any password. Just a note in the ongoing quest to figure out what the heck that song means..... :) - --Lindsey, writing, and Anna, cooking ps-- anyone know what the "scratchman" is? Anna checked the dictionary, but it wasn't there. oh, wait, one more thing: I took someone's suggestion (I can't remember whose it was right now), and gave my history teacher instructions on how to subscribe to small repairs. He seemed a bit confused about the process, but said he'd try to get on the list (he wants more e-mail on his school computer). So, Schmutz, if you're out there, hello from Lindsey Claypool, in your 1st period class. :) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. Anyone out there with a songbook? I know the words are in there, I just can't seem to get my hands on an actual book.
