[BigHAIR844 Subject: [s-r] Adam's Sarah Post Hi Adam! Glad you enjoyed both Surfacing and Fumbling! Isn't Sarah amazing? [d'oh, talk about stating the obvious!]. To answer your question regarding her sexuality, no, she isn't gay [she married her drummer, Ashwin Sood] late last year. But in an interview, when asked whether she found women sexually attractive she responded that she finds 'people in general' attractive and that, yes, she had had experiences with women. And, as a big Sarah fan, I can only speak for myself but, no, I didn't find your question offensive at all! I can't raelly think why anyone would find such a question offensive?! *Heidi* :) > > Date: Sun, 25 Jan 1998 18:18:31 -0000 > From: "Adam Legge" > Subject: [s-r] NSC: Fumbling > > As I mentioned a coupla months ago I bought Surfacing by SMcL (and loved > it) largely on the basis that practically everyone on this list raved about > her. > > I was advised to buy Fumbling Towards Ecstasy straight away but have only > just got round to it. It was great! And Monique Brumby was her usual very good self! Excellent!!! Yes, I'm a big fan of Monique too, funny I was playing Thylacine a couple of times today :) Actually our other OZling Alana might still be over in the States doing a Sarah groupie thang still... she's been awfully quiet of late... and then Adam co-incidentally sez... >Anyway I've been listening to it for a few days and I think I prefer >Surfacing. Is this SMcL heresy? It's got loads of things that match up to >Surfacing individually (Possession, Good Enough, Elsewhere etc.) but is >weaker as a whole I think. > Hmm, I think this might be verging on heresy ;-). I think most ppl who have listened to all of her albums would consider FTE as her finest, although might have a preference for one of the other albums. You are the first person I know who has started with Surfacing (I dropped out the FTE list yonks ago), so this may give you a different view of Sarah... interesting thought. >Thanks for introducing me to SMcL and is it worth buying the earlier albums >(but I think I know the answer to this already)? Yep :) I just hope that Shawn will release some vids like Sarah has... that reminds me Adam... get her Live and Singles vids some time. >Now I *don't* want to start a bloody war but is she gay? Some of the tracks >would suggest this (e.g. Good Enough) and I saw a feature about her in a >gay and lesbian mag a while ago. Fair enuff. >I want to know 'cos as a gay man it's always useful to have as many >talented gay names as possible in case I need them to bolster an argument. Um Indigo Girls, KD Lang, Catie Curtis, Janis Ian, Melissa Etheridge, Melissa Ferrick, Monique Brumby... which particular argument be that then??? >I thought Shawn might be gay for a while and have to admit to feeling just >a tiny bit disappointed when I found out she wasn't. Not me... whichever side her toast is buttered, I just wish her the very best in her new life cheers neill - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body.
