All the contributers to the Grace of my Heart soundtrack were asked to come up with sort of pastiche songs which would fit into the film's period. So there's doo-wap, sixties girl pop, Beach Boys tributes, and Joni Mitchell/Carol King type tracks. The film was inspired by (loosely based on?) Carol King's life so getting her children to write something is sort of fitting. Between Two Worlds comes late on in the film (late 60s early 70s) after she loses her husband and she goes to live in a Californian commune. She's just wandering around and comes across a hippie playing a guitar sitting on a tree stump who is (yes you've guessed it) the lovely Ms Colvin. See it if you haven't, not just because Shawn is in it briefly, but because it's a really great film for anyone who loves pop music (that's pop as in popular/contemporary music not pop as in pap).
