I've heard of Gorka before but am not familiar with his music. Can anyone recommend a Gorka alblum for someone wanting an introduction to his music? My big discovery this year was Lucy Kaplansky (Flesh & Bone, am sad to say is a better LP than the Shawn-produced The Tide -- IMHO). Also, for those with a yearning for Irish music - check out a band called Solas. If they would stick to songs (IOW, lose the jigs, reels, and airs) and try their hand at contemporary song-writing, they could become the next break-out Irish band. Unfortunately, that might not be a goal for them. God, are they talented though. John -- FWIW????
