And I had a few thoughts of my own to share and am asking for some of yours. 1. Curious fact: I've listened to "Sunny Came Home" hundreds of times on the CD and thousands of times on the radio, watched the video every few seconds it seemed on VH1, and saw it played live on every talk show imaginable, and....I still love the song! I still get a rush when I hear it, and I feel that way about alot of Shawn's songs. They never seem to get old. Maybe it has something to do with it being really great music...possibly! 2. This time last year, I had just bought AFSR and thought it was such a smart investment that I even gave it as a few XMas gifts. Hey you've got to convert wherever you can. So, now on to the real point of this post.... I just finished reading through Spin's picks of the year and have realized that I own none of them. And I don't feel a strong urge to buy any of them either. But I have a long drive home this year for Christmas, and I need some new CDs to keep me company. So I'm turning to the people I trust (musically speaking) and asking you what were the best CDs you bought this past year. They don't have to have been released in 1997; everything's fair game. And while you're deciding, just remember how hard it was to actually unwrap the disc! I'll start it off. And these are in no particular order. 1. Jonatha Brooke 10 cent wings (it did take a couple of listens though) 2. Ani Difranco Living in Clip (My curiousity finally got the better of me, and I doubt no more) 3. The Murmurs Pristine Smut (catchy title, don't you think! and even catchier songs) 4. Crowded House The Best Of (Thanks Shawn for waking me up!) 5. Natasha's Ghost Everything Under the Moon (A San Diego band that hasn't reached the masses but should some day; this was also the hardest disc I've ever tracked down. Their former manager ended up sending it to me. Attached is a site containing song samples. - --------------7CA017B133B5 Content-Type: text/html; charset=us-ascii; name="pickem.natashas.html" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline; filename="pickem.natashas.html" Content-Base: "http://ksdm.com/pickems/pickem.natasha s.html" KSDM: Natasha's Ghost "Everything Under the Moon"
