The first time was in November 1992 at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. That night it was just Shawn and her guitar. Vance Gilbert was the opening act. Vance did end up providing some unexpected backup vocals. He was taking in the Shawn's show from the back of the auditorium and became inspired to join in and just started singing a couple of times. It was fun and seemed to delight Shawn. The second time I saw and heard Shawn perform "Climb On" live was in May 1993 at George Washington University, also in WDC. This time it was with a full band (Larry Klein, Stewart Smith, T-Bone Walk and a few others). Darden Smith was the opening act that evening. Shawn rocked the house as usual. Sorry you missed it, but I hope you'll get a chance soon. She never ceases to amaze me. I was a little dissappointed in the choice of concert t's though for that tour. I have a Fat City tour shirt and really was hoping to get a new shirt with an image of Shawn, but,.... oh well. Wonderful show though. Sarah, do you live in Norfolk? Im in Richmond. This was a killer tour. I saw this tour in a small concert club in Richmond, VA. This was the first time I had seen her with a FULL band and it was great. I saw T-Bone the next summer as he played in his wife's, Sam Phillips, band. Also saw Shawn that summer too, but it was another acoustic tour.
