I'm starting to think I'm the only one who has never met Shawn. It's probably because this bulletin is pasted with the real Shawn fans. I am amazed, however at how many people on this subscription have met her or in your case have an amazing in. I'm very happy to just love the music. > -----Original Message----- > From: DoYaBaybay@aol.com [SMTP:DoYaBaybay@aol.com] > Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 1997 8:03 AM > To: small-repairs@smoe.org > Subject: [s-r] LILITH: Pittsburgh > > Well gang... here's my review of the Lilith Fair from Star Lake > Amphitheatre in Pittsburgh. > > Three words: > > Wow....... Seems Shawn and Neil thought the lyrics were just too good to share :) - or maybe they just couldn't agree on who owned the song.... Anyway, there's just the writing credits and then a big blank spot where the lyrics should be (and trust me, I've looked thoroughly..) We'll all just have to listen that much harder I guess (not that that's a bad thing!) (Cultural lesson for the day: "ANZAC" is generally only used when referring to a small bunch of very old guys still left from the war(s), or when followed by the words "Day" or "biscuits", but hey, you use it however you like :) although the AC does stand for Army Corp, so we'd usually stop at ANZ for any other usage - which is just not as much fun to say really is it?) ~ Kat ~ (Shawn's ETA - oh shoot, I lost count... 45 days I think) - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from the list send mail to majordomo@smoe.org with 'unsub scribe small-repairs' in the message body. I'm just sitting here listening to Katell Keineg's album 'Jet' and I gotta say ... wow!! People, this is a *damn* good CD. Now I have to admit that I bought it a few months ago after reading about her on the Lilith website and after one listen put it aside. I can't explain why, I just didn't like it then. Well, I had the pleasure of sitting next to Cathy B. and Lois in the front row and watching Katell perform on the second stage at the Houston, TX Lilith Fair. And through the whole thing, I was thinking "what the hell is wrong with you Casey?!?!?! She is too cool." So, after seeing her that day I came home and listen to the CD again and was just riveted. I don't know what type of mood I was in that first time I listen to it, but jeez ... something sure was wrong. But then, I've done this twice before. Once with Tara MacLean's 'Silence' and with Fiona Apple's 'Tidal'. I didn't like either the first time I listened and so put them away for a long time, then for one reason or another took them back out at a later date. Now, I cherish both those CD's, and with 'Jet's funky, cooky little nature growing on me all the time, I have no doubt it will become one of my faves in the not too distant future. By any means, this CD now comes highly suggested from me and if you ever get a chance to see Katell live -- do it!! The power of her voice is amazing. - -Casey =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= / "If I shed a tear, I won't cage it ... if I feel a rage I won't / \ deny it ...
