I havn't found anything on the Net about him. I get the digest, so excuse me if this was addressed already. A good web site on Steve Earle can be found at the following URL. The "Other Links" section will get you to his site at Warner Brothers. http://www.mcs.net/~lisa/EARLE/steve.htm BTW, Earle's new album, El Corazon, is supposed to come out 7 October 1997. Ain't he grand? No one does a better solo show. Tell me the subscriber here is not really you, Steve?! Or rather, tell me you are! - -Meri, a Joni fan sorry to have missed L. I would love to get inside Steve Earle's head for one second. He can take the same three chords and make multiple masterpieces. Amazing. I hope not. The sheet I get when replying is blank, so I hope I'm not transgressing any rules by carrying over the previous message. Anyway, I wish I was the Steve Earle of "My wife and I got back together 'cos the divorce was just not workin' out" fame. But, considering what the guy has gone thru', I'm pretty glad. Saw him with Emmylou on TV some time ago, singing "Goodbye" - Stunning. And seen him live 3 times - stunning. Who directed me to him? Dunno, someone called Shawn Colvin, I believe. Supposed to be pretty good actually. Maybe they had to give it to us, since we supplied Neil Finn... :) (Well OK, that was NZ strictly speaking, but he really made his career here, and the rest of the world generally tends to thinks we're one and the same anyway, so close enough...) And it is a great song - "ok i get it, it just took me a minute" has become part of my general conversational repertoire - works great when said with attitude (much like Shawn) It's kind of interesting though that Shawn's home country seem to be the only ones who dipped out; is that like an incentive thing for other countries to sit up and pay attention? Just curious as to what the theory is behind different versions of albums often being released in different countries... anyone know why? BTW everyone, sorry if I come in late on these discussions sometimes - I've got a combination of the time difference (something like a day and half a night in front) and getting the digest version working against me.
