I, however, have never made the connection to Shawn from this song. Jane's a great artist; I only have a few of her CDs, but there's a real range of music there. Some of it is very accessible; some is, as another poster[1] put it, "challenging". Well worth the effort, though. Trivia: Jane is on Reprise, as is Holly Palmer, who opened for Shawn in London on Friday. [1] What _are_ the members of this list called, anyway? Small repairers? Minor mechanics? However--anyone on the list from Manila?--I just came from a gig by this duo who call themselves the Hungry Young Poets; despite the rather pretentious name, they do really good covers of Jewel, the Indigo Girls (in duet with Cookie Chua of Color It Red), Edie Brickell, and yes (!), Shawn Colvin. The lead singer's quite as good as the real thing, of course, but damn fine for an 18-year-old with a guitar. The good Ms. McLachlan should *really* think about getting her show to go international. Nice extra track... "What I get paid For". Surprised they used the same cover as the "Get Outa this House" import single, which I also bought (both versions) at Tower last month for $7.99 each instead of the other prices I've seen elsewhere which were around $14 each. I know you probably sent this to the list with good intentions, but please realize that those of us who've been on the internet for a few years have seen hundreds of these "warning" messages all saying more or less the same thing. This paticular e-mail-virus-that-eats-your-hard-drive one is getting REALLY old. Other than being annoying, it's basically impossible. Like Jill said, no e-mail message can do anything except show text. Now while an attachment *could* be a virus, the amount of code it would take to write a program capable of erasing a hard drive would be huge. Like to the point that it would take 10-12 hours to download on a 28.8 or 33.6 modem. So, chances are e-mail's pretty safe. Also, please be aware that forwarding anything to the list is one of the few things that is prohibited here on Small Repairs. Read the introduction letter that was sent to you when you subscribed to the list for further info about do's and don't's. It is an ubelievable transformation that i go thru; i watch myself as if from the outside, muttering, stumbling, and talking like a fool, but am helpless to stop it. It's like i see myself, shake my head, and say..."What a pathetic little fool. and me being a pharmacist...i spend ALL DAY, EVERY DAY, talking to people; and am usually pretty good & capable of making conversation with just about anyone.
