But first, I knew nothing about Rosanne Cash, until, on CBC2, folk Alley, WERU in East Orland, Maine, KINK-FM in Portland, Oregon, started to play songs from her new CD. These are radio stations we listen to on line. So we saw her in concert with her husband, no band, Monday, and it had to be on of the best concerts I have ever been to. She most of the songs from her new CD, and she explained the songs, as the songs are about the south. The only other CD I have of hers, is The List. I do not play it often. But this CD, will get played a lot. Anyway, the song, I have above is her Civil War song, as Shindell has a Civil War song. She had members of her family fight on both sides. The other comment I have for her, its been seven years since a new CD has come out, so five years for Shindell in the end, is not that bad. Just got my new Garnet Rogers, Amos Lee, and Blue Rodeo CDs,, this month. Blue Rodeo is from Canada, just a outstanding group with 25 years together. A couple of new songs for Blue Rodeo, anything by them, is good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WZB-smS9q3U http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gxdnR6GdSTQ Mike ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 2 Apr 2014 17:43:23 -0700 (PDT) From: Janet Cinelli Subject: [RS] Boulton Center concert He had Joe Bonadio on percussion and Marc Shulman on guitar, along with Sarah Milonovich and Lincoln (I don't know how to spell his name!) While I like when Marc is with him, I do miss hearing Richard's own guitar playing. On another note, Richard posted a picture of himself on facebook with President Obama!! Janet Thanks for this report, Janet. "Full band" meaning Lincoln, Sarah and...? It's striking to me the different permutations he's using on this tour - -- electric with guitar and percussion, solo with acoustic (and Lucy singing some backup), and now the band. Wish we all could have seen them all. - - Greg ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V12 #544 ************************************
