You Stay Here -- I don't like Mariana's Table. It's as simple as that. > > 2. Waiting For The Storm -- I love to play this song on my guitar. > > 3. Abuelita -- This was the hardest choice. I absolutely LOVE both songs, but Abuelita edges out Wisteria as I find it just heartwrenching. > > 4. Last Fare Of The Day -- How do you vote again a 9/11 song? And I've always felt like Clara was kind of a silly throw away. Perhaps I've missed a deeper meaning. Plus at a concert I once asked RS if the song was about one couple or two and he said two. I then said he was wrong; it was one couple. He told me that it was my perogative to hold that belief. (I later decided he was right) > > 5. TV Light -- Not a huge fan of either. I'll take TV Light. > > 6. Easy Street -- Love it. > > 7. Confession -- This song resonates with me. Been in therapy, been on anti-derpessants, but I still just love the anti-Wall St. sentiment that laments America just medicating away it's emotions. > > 8. Howling At The Trouble -- By Now is just too creepy for me. And I love the sound of RS's voice as it holds the world "Troubllllllllllllle" in Howling. > > 9. I Saw My Youth Today -- As someone with "father issue" this song strikes me deeply. > > 10. Parasol Ants Tough call. I really like both songs, but Parasol Ants takes it by a nose. > 11.State of the Union -- I hold this song close as there was a rumor here that RS had said he wasn't going to put this on his album and then *I* posted here that he *had* to put it on because the line about Presdient Bush "smilin' that smile" simply could not NOT be recorded for history. The song then ended up on the album and I *know* that Richard read my post and I personally changed his mind. > > 12. Hazel's House -- Good song. > > 13. Mary Magdalene -- Great song. I like the notion of the historical Jesus as a human man rather than the mythical/spiritual Jesus ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V12 #263 ************************************
