I was lucky enough to hear "Spain" live twice, but I don't think there are any recordings of it that fans have their hands on, at least none that I've heard of. And the last time I saw RS do it had to be nearly ten years ago. - --V On Thu, Jan 31, 2013 at 9:18 AM, Peter Booth wrote: > Or...... > > someone could post the rarities somewhere and people could download them > to make judgements. One option is to add in six covers ("Darkness, Darkness," "Calling the Moon," "Big Muddy" and three others), but I'd really prefer to keep this to RS originals. So what I'll likely do instead is take six deserving classics and give them first-round byes and add them to the second round. Those will be "Are You Happy Now," "Summer Wind, Cotton Dress," "Mary Magdelane," "Reunion Hill," "Next Best Western" and "Transit." Sometimes when you don't have something below, you forget when reading a post, what the heck it was all about. Well I have a studio recording of Hometown team that was recorded for the U of Hartford in CT. I still get the RS List in digest form but haven't opened it in years. Decided to open it yesterday to see if people still post or if it would be full of spam, like many of the lists I subscribed to in the good old days. Not only was it active (quite active) with relevant and recent postings there you were talking about what it was like back in the day. Still seems to be going strong from what I can see. People talking about newbies laughing at songs that aren't funny, debates about Jesus and Mary Magdalene's personal relationship, and you being the good shephard of long standing presiding over his flock.(I'm trying to be ricahrdesque with this allegory, but I'm afraid I sound more like dwight schrute.) I seem to remember that there was a bit of time between list-servs waning and the rising of social media such as FB. I think Facebook filled an opening more than eclipsed anything, with email being the possible exception. I will open my digests more often.
