Sent: Oct 17, 2012 7:58 AM So another post mentioned the song By Now. It seems a rarely-played song, so what has he said about the song? I haven't been able to figure out what it's about. Thanks a lot. Matthew - -- jc | via phone ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 16 Oct 2012 22:07:52 -0400 From: Pete Jameson Subject: [RS] Don Shula & Tom Morello Mike makes a good point. Not everyone is using a cellphone to capture the event. There are countless excellent video recordings available on YouTube, and most of us access them on a regular basis. Now onto Don Shula. He was the Miami Dolphins football coach for a number of years. When he had to deal with changing attitudes toward coaches, styles of dress, and civility, he recognized that these were societal issues and realised that he had to adjust, too. He was one of the most successful coaches in the history of the NFL. Likewise, our generation (I'm on the tail end of the baby boom - born in '58) has had to watch as technology has dramatically altered the way people interact with each other. And, if we don't get with the times, our earning potential can be negatively affected. So, I agree with Carol that the cell phones are an annoyance. I've copied a link to a Tom Morello performance in which he invites everyone on stage and implores the crowd to "live in" the moment. But, you know what, we all have to find a way to connect with the performer and, unless you throw up on me or cause a contusion about my head while slam dancing, I'm probably cool with you...(something I learned from my Deadhead amigos)...
