I'm not all that revved up about this new one - I lost most of my enthusiasm for AYHN fifteen years ago, likely, for instance - although the idea of revisiting some old songs and getting away from the (imho) often heavy-handed production is definitely a selling point - this is something I think Greg Anderson approaches well with Richard. I'd personally rather hear, say, a collection of demos or home recordings, maybe stuff that wasn't deemed ready for prime time but that we might not have heard before or that was hard to find or not heard that often, like Home Team, say, or Shades of Blue, Shades of Black... I dunno, this just isn't one I'm going to get that excited over. But, being the good consumer that I am, it will no doubt take its place on my CD shelves with all the others. BTW, re: the talk about Girlyman and who people are listening to, caught a superb show last night by Mark Erelli. Not someone I think about a lot, but whose music I always enjoy when I hear it.
