No, I never heard that one. It seems like a weird choice. (Although I like Ronstadt.) However, speaking of Ronstadt, recently when my Borders Books/Music closed (SOB!!!), I picked up Carole King/James Taylor's Troubadour: The Rise of the Singer-Songwrite set for a HUGE sellout discount. There is a whole disk in there of folks they felt contributed to the 70's singer/songwriter movement. They include Ronstadt, Little Feat, Elton John, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, Randy Newman, Warren Zevon and Kris Kristofferson. (I guess Jackson Browne must have pissed them off at some point... :-) Anyway, it is the first time I've heard Bonnie Raitt's version of "Love Has No Pride" and I must say, it blows Ronstadt out of the water. I just like it better sung with heart but not tipping over the top. Again, if RS wanted another cover album, those are some singers to think about poaching from. I can imagine a lot of goodies from Tom Wait, Warren Zevon or Randy Newman. ~ Carol ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 2 Oct 2011 14:51:10 -0400 From: Pete Jameson Subject: Re: [RS] Cliff Eberhardt? Dude, Used to see Cliff in and around NYC, when I lived in Westchester county in the 90's...caught him at a house concert in Morgantown WV a few winters back -- where Bridey and I and the host were the only people who had heard his music before (perhaps 30 in attendance). I was obsessed by an early song, my father's shoes, on which Richie Havens appears...and The Long Road.... Looks like he did a collaboration on a Doors tribute record -- not anything I would have expected from him, but i'm constantly surprised by artists...Enjoi!
