A tenor guitar was once described to me as 'half a bouzouki' (ie four single strings rather than four double ones). It's usually tuned the same way too (GDAE an octave below a mandolin) . Sometimes a tenor can be strung a fourth higher (CGDA) making it equivalent to half a mandola. A recent guest at TwickFolk (Reg Meuross) had also recently picked up a nice tenor guitar but he tuned his DADG ie the bottom 4 strings of DADGAD which suggests Richard would easily be able to incorporate it on certain songs Gerry ps At least we now know after a month away from home Richard's Guitar Acquisition Disorder has returned :-) Sent using BlackBerry. from Orange ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2010 16:31:33 +0200 From: Ronnie de Champs Subject: RE: [RS] Re: 'tenner' guitar A tenor guitar - makes much more sense, I feel stupid Ronnie ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 27 Sep 2010 14:29:22 -0700 (PDT) From: Janet Cinelli Subject: [RS] discussion boards I'm wondering if this list is going to become obsolete soon. And I don't blame Richard for having discussion boards on his Facebook page. His Facebook page has over 1,900 fans. Meanwhile, this list -- around since 1997 -- has a mere 54 members on the regular list and 225 on the digest. And whereas we used to average over 20 posts a day, we maybe get five posts per month, tops. Plus, if the Facebook page will have Richard's participation, so much the better. This list isn't going away until I'm the last one to turn out the lights, but things definitely have changed.
