Their doors closed forever due to a variety reasons. Then just last week Michael Rothbard, Executive director & guiding light of the IMAC passed away suddenly. If this wasn't enough, their dog Cleo died today. Cleo was always at the IMAC, usually sleeping near the merch table. Richard played there many times and I've had the pleasure of seeing him there, alone, with his band and a couple of times with Lucy. It's a shame about the IMAC because it had a very homey feeling with a very gentle dog walking around who didn't mind if you petted her and her owner Michael milling around, usually with his partner, Kathie. They were just as excited as we were to see the show too! What a sad day for folk music to lose such a venue and such a man who believed in the music and did so much to promote it. They will be missed. Janet ------------------------------ End of shindell-list-digest V10 #163 ************************************
